BRAND & Marketing trends 2015- Old Man vs New Boy

It’s been said that there are three kinds of marketers and how they deal with trends: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened! So, for smart marketers who want to fall into that second group, paying attention to what looms ahead is the wisest move they can make.
Twenty-fifteen, and the future it will bring, will soon be upon us. In numerology the combination of number 1 (representing leadership and forward movement) and the number 5 (the numeric for business and finance) becomes 15, the fusion of leadership and forward, profitable momentum. This is only useful, of course, assuming you’re a marketer willing to bet your brand’s success on a divine relationship between numbers and impending events.

S.M.A.R.T. Goals-A small change to the earlier concept

Wow,what a difference the right advice can make!
This is a simple abstract for my fellow marketers,
You can use this concept to build a brand that will sustain for decades.

The key to make a reliable and trusted brand is to be specific.Effective goals need to be S.M.A.R.T.

SMART is an acronym for Specific,Measurable,Action -oriented,Realistic and Time-Limited.

Specific:

Goals need to be specific. As an example,I could say,"I want  people to like me," when what I mean is that I want Christie to like me.Well, how will I know if she likes me?

Measurable:

If I ask my Christie to go out to a play and she accepts,I say she likes me.I create the measurement. If you said you wanted more money and I gave you a penny,You'd have more money.Instead, you could have said,"I want 10,000 rupees." Then we would have something to measure to see if you got what you asked for .You create the measurement.

Action Oriented:

This means the goal is not static. It involves doing something.Don not use the word going to.That's like saying ,"I'm going  to be rich." you are always going there, but never arrive.Use verbs like living, sailing, flying, driving, cruising, and so on.

Realistic:

We can say what's realistic for anybody.Have you seen the program,"Mystery science Theater 3000? " It's on the comedy cable channel. It's a funny show about a guy that's trapped in space and forced to watch the worst movies ever made. The creator of the show and his two robots talk over the sound track and make funny comments through out the movie. He was told when he was in high school that he watched too much television. His teacher said,"You can't earn a living watching TV." Guess what?He earns a living watching T.V.So I'm in no position to say what's realistic or what's fantasy for someone elese. That's something you have to decide for yourself.

Time Limited:

A goal is nothing more than a dream that's got a time deadline attached to it.

Trends in restaurant business:Fun leads this time

Once Agatha Christie said “when engaged in eating” the brain should be the servant of the stomach.” And our quote says If you can make this possible than enter into restaurant business.

Before going through the absolutely exciting and thrilling experience of running a restaurant business, be sure about the trends and issues in the field to make yourself stand tall.

Eating out is intimately associated with fun and love. Almost half of the Indian eat out regularly. Even if it might not be an immensely entertaining activity just yet. It is seen as way of reinforcing the needs to be socially active and connected .Increasingly food and entertainment are being brought together by Indian entrepreneurs.

Advertisements on TV :Serving it's purpose or not?

We are watching one of the prime time TV-serial right now.On the spur of the moment,I heard there are troubles of more than one kind.

You should not buy that,' my friend said

Adeela  smiled.(my friends wife) 'It's not that difficult,' the immediate reply was 'How do you put up with me?'

"You're probably right," Adeela said mildly. I was shocked over the ad impact behaviour of both.

"Yes,They are studying her thoughtfully. It was a question we never would have asked one year ago. Then she would have known exactly where everything stood.'I think it might be better if you spent more time here in the office, otherwise on television.'I told myself.

Too many things are becoming unravelled. There are some decisions that only you can make.
'We advertiser's are making ads to serve the purpose of information  or using in-terms of impulsion only.Which made me think about this quote of David Ogilvy.

Consumer is both everywhere and nowhere:Be heedful

Sitting in a nice coffee bar while reading the headlines of a well known e-newspaper in my laptop. Suddenly I was going back to my child days when I was in teen.

During those days, every morning I was eagerly waiting for the paper boy to ring our door bell and handover the news paper to my dad. In the breakfast table I was keenly watching my dad turning the pages. I was just waiting for my turn to read my all time favourite “sports column”.

Now everything has changed with the evolution of information technology . We can get whatever we want by click of the mouse with the help of e-media in a digitalized world.

Innovation became Trendy and Tipsy!

Samsung is here and now; it’s dominant in TVs and sells a lot of washing machines, but its smart phones that made Samsung as a recognizable presence around the world. If Samsung isn’t yet a lustrous brand like apple, its finding success as the anti-apple-Galaxy Smart phones outsells iPhones. And Samsung probably the only other company that can throw a product introduction and have people lined up around a city block, as they did in the New York City on March 14 for the lunch of   Samsung Galaxy S4.

Innovation or research show-off is the key (here, research show-off refers to “first mover win the race strategy”). Companies like Sony, Panasonic, and GE etc.Did what Samsung is doing. Except in the area of analog consumer electronics; they refined and miniaturized existing technology and took it to the max.How ever they didn’t lead the next wave of innovation-digital consumer electronics. In the brave new world, Samsung jumped in with both feet and exploited an industry with no entrenched leaders.

Mr. Lee may have more depth than apple’s job and more long term thinking than perhaps any other US based MNC’s Ceo, despite the mafia like control and secrecy he espouses. Samsung now sells more and is worth more than any giants like Sony, Panasonic, etc. Combined. Think about that, if you have predicted that in the 90’s, you would have been laughed out of the room.

It's been called epic:Entrepreneurship affairs

Ok.. this post will be short and sweet, as I have got this write up to share with you today.Entrepreneurs all over the world suffer from a universal struggle. Productivity! When you’re in business for yourself, you often have so much going on it can be difficult to keep track of it all. As a result you get way laid by the procrastination bug or you down beneath a mountain of “stuff “that you just can’t seem to get or keep organized. Never mind the obstacles, just carry on while looking at them.
Tips to the entrepreneur pals!

i) Don't be an entrepreneur just for the heck of it. There's no point in getting into a business that everyone else is already doing. Like the guy who wanted to get into the soft drink business but then he invented the straw.

ii) Don’t just start a company. Start a whole new industry. Remember Post-Its.

iii) Never give up(you just can't beat the person who won't give up). The guy who started Victoria’s Secret sold his company and jumped off a bridge before it became Victoria's secret because he thought it would never be successful.
